Playground Games has announced that open world racer Forza Horizon 4 is to get a new battle-royale inspired The Eliminator game mode for free in today's Series 17 update.

The mode will see 72 players engaging in head-to-head races, with the winners earning upgrades and the chance to earn faster cars, all the while trying to avoid an ever encroaching circular wall slowly engulfing the game's version of Britain until only a few racers remain. Then those remaining drivers are pitted against each other in one final race to detirmine an overall champion.

You can watch a trailer for the new mode below ahead of the mode's launch in Forza Horizon 4 later today on Xbox One and PC.
