Forza Motorsport 6 made a splash during Microsoft’s Gamescom conference yesterday with new info on the game’s impressive wet weather racing.

New to the series, wet weather racing is made possible thanks to what Turn 10 is calling physically based 3D puddles which appear on circuits based on where they form in the real-world.

The process required track visits, review of race film, and consultation with professionals like IndyCar Series driver Josef Newgarden.

Four new track environments have also been confirmed as part of the game’s 26 launch line-up. These environments are Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Circuit of the Americas, each making its franchise debut. Meanwhile Sonoma Raceway and Hockenheimring return, completely rebuilt from the ground up for this generation.
