The Winterfest event is underway, and you can unlock many free cosmetics in Fortnite while it lasts. The iconic lodge has returned for a limited time, allowing you to open presents and gain an XP bonus. The event was added with the 39.11 update on Thursday, December 18, which is also the last update of 2025.
Now, it’s time for Epic Games to take a winter break while we enjoy the festive event. Fortunately, the game developer has added just enough content over the next few weeks, as the Winterfest event is scheduled to end in early 2026.
When will the Winterfest event end in Fortnite?
During the Winterfest event, you will receive a new gift every day. Thanks to this, you can unlock 14 new cosmetic items, as well as two skins. To open presents, you need to visit the Winterfest lodge, which is located in the main menu.
The ending date of the Winterfest 2025 event is set for January 5, 2026. Thanks to this, you have more than enough time to open all the gifts and unlock the free cosmetics. Even if you are not an active player, you can log in every day to open a gift and get a pleasant surprise.
Besides all the free rewards, the Winterfest event brings a couple of fan-favorite items from the previous winter events, including the Sneaky Snowman and the Snowball Launcher. The Battle Royale island now has a snowy biome in the northern part of it, and you can find a winter-themed POI in it.
The next Fortnite update is scheduled for early 2026, which will be the third update of Chapter 7 – Season 1. Before it comes out, though, Epic will release all the new Winterfest skins, including cosmetics from the Fortnite x Harry Potter collaboration.
