The next Fortnite update will come out this week. Epic Games usually releases updates on Tuesday, so we expect the next one on September 26. This will be the second major update of Chapter 4 – Season 4, and we expect big things from it.
Epic has already revealed a few things that will arrive with the update. However, we want to see even more. Considering that Ahsoka Tano is coming, it’s about time that we see lightsabers in Fortnite Battle Royale.
Things we want to see in the next Fortnite update
1) Lightsabers

Epic Games has had several Star Wars collaborations in Fortnite, yet lightsabers cosmetics still haven’t come out. We’ve had lightsabers as weapons for a limited time, but everyone would love to have them as pickaxes.
Ahsoka Tano’s lightsabers look fantastic, so we’re hoping to see them this week!
2) New interface

Epic has been working on a new Fortnite interface for the past few months. It was recently leaked, and there is no doubt that it will make the game look fresh and new. However, we’re hoping that it comes with the v26.20 update.
Releasing such a massive update in the middle of the season is a rather surprising move, but it’s the right one.
3) More Mythic items

According to Fortnite leakers, more Mythic items will return throughout the season. Considering that the video game has had many fantastic Mythic weapons, we’re hoping to see some of the fan favorites return with the next update.
Here are some Mythic items we’d love to see:
- Skye’s Assault Rifle
- Ocean’s Burst Assault Rifle
- Brutus’ Minigun
- Spire Assassin’s Primal Shotgun
- Amban Sniper Rifle
- The Ageless Champion’s Shockwave Hammer
Considering that the next update will include Ahsoka Tano, we might see the return of the Amban Sniper Rifle.
4) Limited-time game modes

Fortnite’s Creative mode is fantastic and has brought some mind-blowing maps. However, we’d still love to see some fan-favorites limited-time game modes. From 50v50 to Air Royale, there have been numerous LTM’s Fortnite players have enjoyed.
While it’s unlikely that this will happen, we still hope to get at least one LTM with the next Fortnite update.
5) Better matchmaking

With the release of Fortnite Chapter 2, Epic Games implemented skill-based matchmaking in Fortnite. This system has been active for nearly four years, yet many players would like to see some improvements. Unfortunately, the system is very easy to trick, which ruins fun for many players.
Improving matchmaking should be a priority for Epic, and players who cheat the system should be suspended or banned.
6) Kinetic Blade

Kinetic Blade is a fan-favorite Fortnite item that we’d love to see return with the next update. The weapon was teased in the Season 4 trailer, which was likely Epic Games’ way of teasing its return. Considering how fantastic the weapon was, especially for mobility, many players want to see it return.
This might be a Mythic version of the Kinetic Blade that will be found in a vault. It was seen on Kado Thorne, this season’s primary antagonist, so it might be his exclusive weapon.
7) First-person mode

Fortnite’s first-person mode has been in development for a long time. Unfortunately, no one knows when Epic will release it. Considering that the new perspective can be activated through Fortnite: Save the World, we can expect it to come out soon.
Epic Games might be saving the new feature for Fortnite Chapter 5. However, we’re hoping it arrives sooner than that.
