The first update to Fortnite after the launch of Season X – update v10.00 – has transformed Neo Tilted into a rustic Wild West themed area in its time-turning Rift Zone.

Tilted Town boasts a saloon, gunsmith, hotel and work in progress clock tower, and the players’ skins change to suitably appropriate cowboy garb with holsters galore. There won’t be a lot of opportunity to admire the sights through sepia tinted glasses, however, because the town also implements a unique gameplay mechanic: ‘no buildin’, no breakin’.’

Players must rely on their combat skills alone in a western-style shootout, with new themed-weapons like the Double Barrel Shotgun, the Infantry Rifle, the Six Shooter, and the Hunting Rifle. I assume Tilted Town is not a riff of Westworld, and that mechs won’t be stomping players to smithereens here.

Along with the first Rift Zone event, the patch adds the new Automatic Sniper Rifle – the Arsenal game mode will be coming soon. The solos mode begins with all players possessing the highest rarity gun, and when the player eliminates someone with that weapon, it will downgrade to a lower rarity weapon. The first player to get an elimination with the final weapon wins, and given that eliminated players drop materials, we can assume building will be allowed. It will be a limited time mode, but for now we will hold our horses until we hear more on when it will arrive in the battle royale.
