Epic Games has confirmed the full patch notes for Fortnite update 8, which kicks off a brand new season for the perpetually popular battle royale juggernaut.
You may remember a previous tease for Season 8 indicated we'd be getting something pirate-y. Well, sure enough, Epic's confirmed that a Pirate Cannon is now available in the game, which dishes out damage to structures and can even launch your character if you fancy it.
The map has also been expanded, adding new locations including Sunny Steps and Lazy Lagoon. There's also two limited-time modes on offer: 50v50 and Close Encounters.
Not to be outdone, there's also plenty of additional content for Fortnite's Save the World edition, the biggest being a new Hero loadout system. Meanwhile, Plankerton has received a visual overhaul, while a new event called Love Storm is now available to tackle.
Meanwhile, the Season 8 Battle Pass will set you back 950 V-Bucks, and includes 100 new levels and 100 extra rewards. Beyond that, update 8 features an absolute ton of bug fixes and other improvements to Fortnite, so be sure to digest the patch notes here.
