There are a lot of dream licensed killers for Dead By Daylight. While the next chapter set for September is an original based on Asian folklore, Year 10 is set to receive one more licensed Chapter in November that will include a Killer and two Survivors. The next licensed episode will then arrive in Year 11, and a huge Fortnite leak renews hope that Dead By Daylight can finally get an iconic Killer everyone has wanted for years.

Fortnite leak renews hope Dead By Daylight can get Friday the 13th Chapter

Prominent leaker, ShiinaBR, has revealed that Jason Voorhees is joining Fortnite in October. This is a huge development as it is the first video game IP not affiliated with ownership of Friday the 13th that Jason Voorhees is joining. Jason was part of Multiversus, but New Line Cinema is a subsidiary of Warner Bros., and New Line Cinema own the trademarks for “Friday the 13th,” “Jason Voorhees,” and “Crystal Lake”.

Previously, head of partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote, has been reluctant about Jason joining Dead By Daylight. In a most recent interview dating back to June this year, Mathieu Cote told YouTuber Sawpalin that “the probability is greater than 0%” for Jason in DBD, but there are a lot of hurdles. Cote said it’s one of the “most complex licenses” because “every year there’s someone who comes out saying, ‘No, no, it’s mine,’ and there, that conversation is very, very delicate”. This led Mathieu Cote to question whether the license is even “worth fighting for”.

While Jason Voorhees in Fortnite doesn’t guarantee there will ever be a Friday the 13th Chapter in Dead By Daylight, it at least suggests there is a huge possibility it can actually happen. If Epic Games were able to overcome obstacles involving the license, then it’s possible BeHaviour Interactive can achieve the same.

A DBD Friday the 13th Chapter would be fantastic. It seems highly unlikely for the November Chapter as that is set to star a licensed Killer and two Survivors. The assumption for a Friday the 13th Chapter is that it would star Jason as a solo killer with Crystal Lake as a map.

Hopefully it’s a fantasy that becomes reality in Year 11. Jason Voorhees is one of the most highly and consistently requested killers for DBD, and it would be fantastic for him to step foot into the Fog. The dream could even extend to being added to 2v8 mode to partner with his nemesis, Freddy Kreuger.
