There’s a lot going on inside the world of Fortnite. The newest update, v37.0, hasn’t been received particularly well as it’s removed two game modes. It’s also disabled several controversial emotes, although players have blamed “weirdos” in the community. In further bad news, it’s been highlighted that a fantastic feature promised for Fortnite has been delayed once again.

Fantastic Fortnite feature delayed again

On X, Hypex has confirmed the following delays for Fortnite UEFN:

  • Custom weapons – delayed to early 2026
  • Physics – delayed to late 2025
  • Custom items – delayed to late 2025

The delay of custom weapons is frustrating as it was originally touted for late-2024, before being pushed to 2025, and now early-2026. Naturally, there is a lot of scepticism within the Fortnite community that it will ever arrive at all.

The promise of custom weapons has been highly-anticipated because it would allow UEFN creators to build entirely unique weapons from scratch instead of just having to settle for reskins.

In the replies to Hypex, there isn’t a lot of optimism from the community. Many replies echo the sentiment “it’s going to be delayed again” and “we are never getting this sh*t”.

Hopefully this is the final delay for custom weapons as over one year since its initial intended release is frustrating for the community and creators. In addition, we hope there won’t be further delay for “physics” as well as the promise of custom items.

In other Fortnite news, players can get another free skin following update v37.0, and we have guides for how to unlock the free Corvo Back Bling and Corvus Claws.
