Bloomberg has reported that Epic Games' Fortnite has reached 200 million registered players worldwide.
That's a hugely impressive figure, and pretty much cements the battle royale title as the most popular game on the planet right now. Of course, one half of the Fortnite experience is free, but still, a massive milestone nonetheless.
It's also impressive considering the fact Fortnite had 125 million registered players back in June, meaning the game has seen a 60% increase in its user base. It's also five times larger than the figure Epic Games revealed at the start of the year. Blimey.
Fortnite received a brand new update today, adding a Pump Shotgun and another Limited Time Event into the mix.
The game has firmly imprinted itself on the mainstream consciousness, with everyone from footie players to musician Drake being fans of every-man-for-himself shooter. Even my niece knows what Fortnite is, as does everyone in her school.
