Polish publisher Forever Entertainment has announced it will be developing The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 remakes in a partnership with Sega.

A report from Graczpospolita stated that the publisher had engaged in a second agreement with Sega to reboot the arcade titles The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2. MegaPixel Studio would have been at the helm of the project with Forever Entertainment supervising with Sega as co-producer and publisher. In a tweet posted today, Forever Entertainment acknowledged and confirmed that the classic horror games will be brought into the twenty-first century.

In a final comment, the publisher advised that fans follow its official social media accounts to learn more in due course. The House of the Dead community are already chomping at the bit, and hope that VR is an option for the rebooted rail shooter. And a cluster are calling out for a Typing of the Dead remake, which was a strange spin off in which the guns were swapped for keyboards. Players needed to rapidly type out letters, words, and phrases to mow down waves of undead, and it convinced dozens of gamers that spelling is fun. Sometimes.
