A closed beta for sword-swinging brawler For Honor is coming in January, Ubisoft has announced. You can register for access now over on Ubisoft’s website, although the publisher has yet to say how many players will be invited or how they’ll be selected.
As well as giving players an early taste of the game, the closed beta will also feature a ‘War of the Factions’ pre-launch limited time event that aims to answer who reigns supreme between the Vikings, Samurai and Knights, with rewards on offer to the winning faction.
You’ll get rewards just for participating in the beta, too.
Alice went and played For Honor earlier this month and came back thinking it had the “potential to grow in fascinating ways” once it rolls out in February.
“There are some niggles that could benefit from streamlining, but For Honor could ultimately end up being as good or as terrible as the people you meet in it,” she said. “There’s a wide gulf to be found there, of course, but at this point it does seem to provide interesting systems to navigate it with. I saw a match end because one player got knocked off a bridge right at the start.”
