Football Manager Handheld 2012 will be released via the app store at midnight, supporting iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Building on the success of FM Handheld 2011, the team at Sports Interactive has listened to feedback from fans to create what it is calling the most realistic football management simulation game in the world, whilst also introducing a new Challenge Mode.

“We’re delighted to be able to finally announce & release FMH 2012,” said Miles Jacobson, studio director at Sports Interactive. “Keeping the Challenge mode secret has been a challenge in itself but with its inclusion, and all the other new additions, we believe that the game will be another huge hit on the app store and can’t wait to see the reaction to the game.”

In Challenge Mode players will feel the pressure of being a manager in some familiar short-term situations: relegation battles, injury nightmares, and dealing with an unhappy squad.

The classic FM game is still present, now with a host of new features, including an improved user interface and more interactive news. There is also the ability to easily identify the three key players in other squads via indicators and the addition of bragging rights via Facebook in the game’s social networking options.

It’s also possible to share shortlists and search filters with friends.

The player and team database has also been brought right up to date, including new leagues to dabble with: Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League and Blue Square Bet North & South.

And for those with the technology to make it happen, Football Manager Handheld 2012 utilises some of the new iOS5 features, such as being playable in HD on a HD TV using the Apple TV Mirroring system for iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.
