Flintoff the face of EA Cricket 2005

Electronic Arts today announced that Andrew “Freddy” Flintoff will be the face of EA Sports Cricket 2005. The game will let players take control of a fully licensed England team to play against a host of International teams including Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. County teams and tournaments will also be included as will the popular Twenty20 tournament.

Luke Cousens of EA Sports commented: “Andrew is the one of the biggest talents in world cricket at present and will play a huge role in England’s bid to wrestle back the Ashes. He is the perfect front man for Cricket 2005.”

Andrew Flintoff added: “Cricket is getting bigger and bigger around the world and this new game proves it. It’s got everything from fast bowlers to the big hitting shots and I’m very happy to be endorsing it.”

The game will feature new detail in the players’ faces and bodies with over 1000 new motion captured animations. As is now common place in sports games there will also be the create your own player facility. An EA Sports game would not be complete without TV style presentation and expect the same with Cricket 2005, with commentary from Richie Benaud.

Cricket 2005 is set for release on July 1st, 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
