A pizzeria in Long Branch, New Jersey is being called up to 200 times an hour by fans asking if it has any link to the hit horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s, the Asbury Park Press reports.

Freddie’s Restaurant and Pizzeria has reportedly received thousands of phone calls over the last year from children asking if it has anything to do with Freddy’s Fazbear Pizza, the restaurant featured in the game.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said waitress Edna Moore. “You can get 200 calls in an hour. It’s very annoying. You try to do your job, and you keep picking the phone up.”

The restaurant is said to have added more telephone lines to help keep up with the volume of callers, as employees find it difficult to keep up with calls from legitimate pizza-buyers. You can hear examples of some of the calls in the video below.

A second restaurant in Roseville, California, called ‘Fast Freddie’s Pizza & Pasta’ is facing a similar problem, too, the site reports. “It looks pretty bad sometimes when we have a full line of customers out the door and we’re hanging up on people,” said employee Tyler Thompson.

While the game’s creator Scott Cawthon did not reply to the site’s request for comment, an automated response from him suggests he may be aware of the issue.

“Please do not call any phone numbers that you think may be associated with the game,” the message is alleged to say, “there are NO phone numbers associated with the game or marketing; all locations are fictional.”

“I think it would be nice if the game just stops being produced,” added Freddie’s manager Oscar Hernandez.
