Majesco Entertainment has announced the development of Fish Tycoon for Nintendo DS. Originally created by Last Day of Work and published by Big Fish Games as an online PC title, Majesco’s new internal development studio, Aquaria Interactive, is now porting the game to Nintendo’s handheld.

Fish Tycoon will turn the Nitnendo DS into a virtual fish store, and lets players raise fish in real-time virtual aquariums and crossbreed to create new breeds to sell in the store.

Sell fish to gather funding for supplies, medicine, special chemicals, technology research and store advertising to attract more customers.

The game starts with only a small selection of fish that players must nurture and breed to discover the correct genetic combination for the ‘7 Magic Fish’.

The DS version features 750 different fish types – nearly twice as many fish types as the PC game. The game also sports brand-new 3D environments and new tank decorations. Majesco is also promising extensive use of the touch screen, enabling players to easily breed fish, make purchases and decorate tanks.

Fish Tycoon will be available this holiday season in the US and is expected to launch across Europe early in 2008.
