Great progress is being made with Xbox Scorpio, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said on Twitter.

Asked by a fan about how things are going with the development of Scorpio, Spencer replied that he is  “absolutely [happy with what he is seeing].”

He added that it is “great that our 1st party teams are getting engines up and tuned, great progress across studios, platform and hw”.

That all sounds very positive.

Spencer also responded to a question asking if Microsoft will show Scorpio prior to E3.

“Honestly not sure yet but I know people want this,” he said.

Regarding the Xbox platform right now, there has been some negative press following the cancellation of Scalebound, but Spencer believes Xbox is in a good place.

“Xbox is doing well, holiday was good, lots of people playing a lot of games which is what it’s all about,” he said.

Xbox fans should not be concerned the cancellation of Scalebound is a sign the platform holder is no longer willing to take risks with game development, Spencer added.

“I know we have to take risks, I realize right now probably sounds hollow but I agree.”

Spencer noted that the cancellation of Scalebound “hurt” him, adding that he wants “everything we start to turn out great, to take risks, create diversity”.
