EA has announced details on its brand new third-person sci-fi horror game Dead Space, set for Xbox 360 and PS3 in late 2008.

You play Issac Clarke, an engineer who lands on a deep space mining ship while on a routine mission only to find its crew decimated by an alien infestation. As you can imagine, you need to fight to survive in a game EA describes as “the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action“.

We’re thinking a cross between Resident Evil and classic sci-fi horror flick Event Horizon. We’ll bring you more on Dead Space as soon as we get it. In the mean time, you can check out the game’s website at www.deadspacegame.com.
