The first campaign episode for Arma 3 will release as free DLC on October 31, Bohemia Interactive has announced.

‘Survival’ introduces players to Ben Kerry, a soldier deployed to the Mediterranean as part of a NATO peacekeeping mission. But with the tour winding down and US forces withdrawing, the opposing CSAT faction mobilises its military for battle, leading to a flashpoint between the two factions.

“Of course, it’s not just about our own story, but another opportunity to provide yet more building blocks for the platform – new weapons, animations, 3D objects, scripted modules – each designed to grant content creators even greater freedom to create and share their own content,” said creative director Jay Crowe discussing the DLC. “Looking forward to the forthcoming episodes, we’ll continue to expand Arma 3’s sandbox with additions such as new vehicles.”

Two more campaign episodes are due to release in the future.
