Free-to-play, persistent world shooter Firefall will have a new demo available at this year’s gamescom and PAX.

The gamescom demo is said to include competitive multiplayer events while at PAX players will be able to see multiplayer maps and play through the game’s PVE content.

Additionally, developer Red 5 Studios is expanding its Friends and Family beta after PAX and interested users will be able to sign up to the beta at the official Firefall website.

Red 5 has recently stated it likens the Firefall invite model to that used by Gmail.

Firefall is a team-based shooter from the former lead designer of Tribes, the former team lead of World of Warcraft, and written by Orson Scott Card.
