Final Fantasy XIV's third expansion, Shadowbringers, will launch in summer 2019, Square Enix has announced.

Shadowbringers will add a bunch of new content into the mix, including a brand new race, extra jobs, and more locations to explore. Furthermore, players can tuck into a New Game Plus mode, a Trust system that allows you to battle against familiar NPCs, and travel to other servers using the World Visit System.

Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida also revealed that update 4.5 will introduce Blue Mage job, which will be available to everyone who has purchased A Realm Reborn and have reached level 50 as a Disciple of War or Magic.

Square Enix says that Blue Mage will provide a unique solo experience, and its starting level cap of 50 will be increased overtime with the addition of extra content for the job.

Update 4.5 is due to be released in two parts, one in early January 2019 and the other in late March, and will be titled Requiem for Heroes. The patch also introduces new main scenario quests, new trials, and updates to Rival Wings and the Gold Saucer.
