World Transfer Applications are being accepted in Final Fantasy XIV from March 1 to March 19.

Starting March 27, a World merge will be carried out. This comes after a period of deliberation over whether to merge servers in the MMO following negative fan feedback over the suggestion.

Square Enix decided to carry out the merge however, shrinking the number of servers in Final Fantasy XIV from 18 to 10.

The firm recommends all European players join the Ragnarok server in order to join other users within the same time zone.

Users who share a name with another member on the newly merged server may lose that name depending on which character was created first.
