It has been revealed at the Square Enix Party that Final Fantasy XII will arrive in Japan on March 16th, 2006, exclusively on PlayStation 2. There is no release set for North America or Europe, but Square has previously said the game will arrive in Europe in 2006. Final Fantasy XII sees the game move away from the MMO gameplay in FFXI, back to the more traditional offline RPG roots.
Another big announcement at the Square Enix Party was the announcement of the release date of Kingdom Hearts 2. The follow-up to the Disney Square RPG will be on Japanese shelves sometime in December 2005, with a Western release some time in 2006.
