Final Fantasy VII’s lead character Cloud Strife is to be released as a playable DLC character in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo has announced.
Cloud will be a joined by a new stage themed around Midgar, the main location of Final Fantasy VII, although a price and release date for either piece of DLC has yet to be announced. You can take a look at what the Midgar stage looks like in the image below.
The content will be available on both Wii U and 3DS.
In addition, a special Super Smash Bros-focussed Nintendo Direct will be broadcast in December, where Nintendo is expected to go into more details on the final characters set to be released for the fighter.
Super Smash Bros. launched last autumn and was praised in our review for being one of the “very best games” available on Wii U.
