During the E3 2019 Square Enix conference, it was revealed that Final Fantasy VIII, which first came out on the PlayStation in 1998, is getting a remaster.

Final Fantasy VIII is considered a dark horse for the series, following a tough act in Final Fantasy VII. Check out the trailer:

The game's visuals, as you would imagine, look cleaned-up and sharp, and the pre-rendered cut scenes still look surprisingly fresh now, 20 years after the game's original release.

The description for the trailer reads, 'FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered marks the 20th Anniversary of its original release with a new visual refresh and brings the game’s beloved story to PS4. With overhauled visuals, see your favorite characters come to life like never before!'

Final Fantasy VIII Remaster is coming out onPS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC later in 2019, with no specific release date specified.
