Square Enix has released a bunch of new screenshots for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, giving us a closer look at a bunch of updated characters, summons and much more coming in the first episode of the much-loved RPG re-imagining.

Posting them on the Square Enix official blog, the images include showing off how the Chocobo/Moogle summon looks in the new adventure, and also gives us a glimpse at classic locations from the original such as Arieth's house as well as a look at the new weapon upgrade interface.

The post also reminds us on some details that have been confirmed previously, such as the ability to switch from the new real-time-battle system to a more traditional turn based Classic mode, and talks on how each character in normal mode will have their own unique abilities – such as Cloud who can switch between Operator Mode – a balance of attack, defense and mobility – and Punisher Mode which sacrifices mobility to allow him to perform more powerful strikes.

Cloud and co will even be able to participate in a number of new mini-games that have been reimagined for the new version, including darts, bike battles and more. You can check out the rest of the new screens over on the Square Enix blog. Episode One of the Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
