Final Fantasy VII is now available to download on Steam.

The Steam version of Squaresoft’s classic RPG is identical to the version released on the Square Enix Store last year, and includes achievements and a new character booster, allowing players to edit their character’s stats or boost their cash.

The game is also said to be “optimized for PC” and features support for cloud-based saves. It’ll set you back £9.99.

Be aware, though: early user reports suggest that the game may feature always-online DRM.

Final Fantasy VII first released on PSOne in 1997 and is often considered by fans as the series highlight.

Four more Final Fantasy titles are currently in development at Square, including next month’s MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XV, and an HD version of Final Fantasy X/X-2.
