Final Fantasy IX, originally released in 2000, is now available on Steam, Square Enix has announced.

The Steam edition is based on the recently optimised version for mobile devices, but includes full Steam Trading cards, high definition movies and character models, cloud saving across multiple devices, auto-save and seven new booster features.

Boosters include high speed mode and no encounter mode, which will allow players to automatically master equipped weapons and gear, as well as maximize character levels, magic stone counts and gil.

FFIX is available for a launch price discount of £12.79 until April 20, then returning to the regular price of £15.99.
