Turn-based strategic beat-em-up Fights in Tight Spaces launches today, and there’s a trailer to mark the occasion.
The game splices together turn based tactics, deck building and classic action movies. Fights in Tight Spaces drops you into a range of scenarios where you’ll have to fight off a room of baddies. These fights go down in locations like bars, airport terminals and more. Sometimes you’ll have to protect a VIP, sometimes you’ll just have to survive.
You’ll select moves from a deck of cards, that you can build in different ways depending on your playstyle. Fights will then play out in turn-based fashion, as you and your enemies pick out cards and perform moves. There’s also random events like injuries that will cause you to adjust your tactics on the fly.
It sounds a little like Slay the Spire-meets-John Wick Hex, which isn’t entirely coincidental, given the involvement of that game’s developer Bithell Games. However, the bulk of development has been undertaken by Ground Shatter and Mode 7, the latter of whom was responsible for the excellent Frozen Synapse.
