The debut trailer for EA Sports’ Fight Night Champion has confirmed a March 2011 release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 brawler.
The trailer reveals March 1, 2011 as the North American release date, suggesting we’ll see the game hit UK stores on March 4.
Fight Night: Champion is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 and will sport a new single-player mode which promises to “break the mould of what is expected in a single-player sports game”.
Look out for first-impressions tonight.
March is already looking pretty competitive, with Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2, Shogun 2, Okamiden, MotoGP 10/11, Red Faction: Armageddon and the Nintendo 3DS all temping consumers to part with their cash.
The recently launched EA Sports MMA failed to find an audience, but Fight Night’s strong heritage and marketplace monopoly should ensure Fight Night: Champion doesn’t suffer a knock-out blow.
