Today’s planned release of the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PC, and World Cup Kick-Off mode for PS4 and Xbox One, has been delayed because of unforeseen issues, EA has announced.

“To ensure the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the launch of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup and the World Cup Kick-Off mode,” explains a FIFA 14 forum post.

“Knowing that our players have been so excited for these new modes made it a tough decision. However, as we progressed through final testing we encountered unforeseen issues that would affect all users who downloaded the update, so it’s important to address them first before release.”

The hope is to have the modes ready for release in the coming days.

The new FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup will act as a separate mode within FIFA Ultimate Team, giving players the chance to build their own squad of players from all 32 National Teams taking part in the World Cup Finals.

The FIFA World Cup Kick Off mode will introduce all 32 national teams competing in the tournament, plus the official match ball. This means you’ll be able to play friendly matches, but no official tournament mode will be included.
