Square Enix has today announced that Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is to be released exclusively for Nintendo DS in PAL territories on February 15, 2008.

The handheld RPG/RTS is set one year after events of Final Fantasy XII, promising to answer player questions about what happens next to heroes Vaan, Penelo, Fran and Balthier.

Players will return to the land of Ivalice where they’ll meet new characters, visit unexplored locations and embark upon a breathtaking new adventure.

The game will also feature an evolution of the innovative Gambit system, making it possible for automated commands to be issued during real-time combat. Touch screen controls will also make the game more accessible, with players able to play with only the DS stylus.
