System 3 has today announced that its upcoming racing simulation, Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, is to be released for PlayStation 2 in the spring.

The PS2 version is promised to match the PS3 version in terms of game features, offering 50 modelled Ferraris and a full compliment of Ferrari Challenge series tracks. The game is also said to sport the most comprehensive editing system seen in a PlayStation 2 racing title and online play for up to eight players.

“We want Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli to reach as many gamers as possible and the PS2 version is instrumental in achieving this,” remarks Cale. “Despite technical limitations, the team at Eutechnyx are doing an outstanding job in translating the exceptional features of the PS3 version to its predecessor, maintaining an excellent standard of visuals and keeping that incredible handling intact.”
