Sultry PlayStation action-adventure series Fear Effect will be returning after nearly 20 years out of the limelight next month, with Square Enix Collective and Sushee bringing Fear Effect Sedna to PS4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One on March 6.

This latest instalment in the cult series is being co-written by Fear Effect’s original writer, and sees Hana, Rain, Glas, and Deke — joined by newcomer Axel — caught up in a new story centring on Inuit mythology.

Fans will be chuffed to learn that the iconic death scenes from the original game will return, with Fear Effect Sedna marrying elements of puzzle solving, stealth, and action into one isometric-flavoured package. Once again, the series’ titular adrenaline-based mechanic also features to influence your character’s attack and defence.

If that wasn’t enough to get fans salivating like a hungry hound, it’s worth remembering that Sushee is also chiselling away on Fear Effect Reinvented, an updated version of the 1999 original. As with Sedna, this project will also be released for PS4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One.

‘Fear Effect Sedna generated an amazing response from fans of the series when we ran our Kickstarter, and with the support of Square Enix Collective and co-producer Forever Entertainment, we’re excited to see just what they make of it come release,’ commented Sushee founder, Benjamin Anseaume.
