FEAR 3 has been moved from its planned late March release to May, a post by an admin on Fearfans.com has revealed.

“The F.E.A.R. 3 launch date will now be in May 2011, as we look to deliver the best possible game for our fans,” reads the post.

“Thanks for the patience, I promise it will be worth it.”

FEAR 3 had originally been lined-up for a winter 2010 debut, but back in August 2010 the game was moved into 2011, before being handed a firm March 25 release date in North America.

New to the series is cooperative gameplay, with players taking control of Point Man and Paxton Fettel. Long-time fans will know that these two are the sons of Alma, the spooky girl and downright freaky woman from the previous games. Both men have unique abilities, with the cooperative mode making the most of their differences. Point Man’s genetically enhanced super soldier abilities make him a very different character to Fettel, with his telekinetic powers.

It’s also concerning when a game is delayed – more so when it happens more than once – but we’d rather Warner and developer Day 1 Studios gives the project more time if it’s needed, rather than release a product which will disappoint players.
