A series of FBI raids took place from Virginia to California, which concluded an FBI operation which has put an end to a service that supported around 50,000 illegal Lineage II users – something the publisher stated cost them millions of dollars.

Warrants were served on the operators at the L2Exreme and will now enable the authorities to put an end to the company’s illegal operations. L2Extreme was providing an “unauthorized service and code” enabling users to use Lineage II illegally.

We’re extremely pleased that the FBI has worked with us so diligently to bring this particular case to its current state and we want our customers to understand that we will continue to fight similar operations in the future in order to maintain the integrity of all NCsoft games,” said Matt Esber, NCsoft North America general counsel.
