Koei has released a playable demo of its upcoming hi-octane, futuristic racer, Fatal Inertia. Players get the chance to sample three single-player race modes and a selection of tracks from the full game.

At only 380MB it’s also one of the smallest demos we’ve seen on Xbox LIVE Marketplace so shouldn’t prove to be a problem for those with strict bandwidth quotas.

There’s no word on when the demo will be made available to European Xbox LIVE users, but it’s possible to use a US Silver account to gain access now.

Fatal Inertia is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 in September with a PS3 version apparently still in development for release at a later date.
