Designed as a pick-up-and-play experience, players will assume the role of elite agents in a modern-day world, with both solo, cooperative and competitive story-driven missions to complete.

The inspiration for The Agency came from the spy and espionage genre. We want to put players in the heart of the action to experience what it’s really like to live the life of an elite agent,” said Hal Milton, Lead Designer, Sony Online Entertainment. “Players will jet set around this virtual world to exotic locales, infiltrate enemy organizations to steal secrets and perpetrate sabotage, all the while building their own agency with an eye towards global domination.

Players will begin by choosing to be a UNITE spy or a ParaGON mercenary, both factions involved in illicit activities such as drug smuggling, assassinations, espionage and counter intelligence. As players progress they will be able to build their own agencies, team up with others to create joint agencies and recruit a roster of operatives.

Operatives are non-player characters who will work 24/7 to provide the goods the player desires. Even when the player is offline, the operative will send updates via email and instant messages so that the player is always aware of latest developments.

The Agency promises to be an instant action experience, but at the same time a long-term strategy for all fans of espionage. No release date has been announced, but expect more information at E3 next month.
