Fallout: New Vegas, the hotly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s incredible post-apocalyptic open world role-playing game Fallout 3, will be available autumn 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Bethesda Softworks has announced.
Fallout: New Vegas, in development at Obsidian Entertainment (itself founded by ex-Fallout and Fallout 2 developers), brings the much loved franchise to Vegas, and promises to feature all the “action, humour, and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of the legendary series”.
For now, there’s very little info, but we have gleamed some titbits from the newly released trailer. After a slow pan over what appears to be a mass grave in the Nevada Desert, during which a single-wheeled robot can be seen scavenging, a member of the New California Republic (NCR) is seen looking out over the grave site towards the bright lights of New Vegas.
Fans of the first two Fallout games will remember the NCR as arguably the largest known power group in the world of Fallout. Its status in Fallout: New Vegas, however, is unknown.
Further details are expected later this month when the game will feature in magazine cover stories around the world.
