Developer Bethesda has revealed it has made changes to its multi-million selling Fallout 3 for its release in Japan, reports Kotaku.

Side-quest, The Power of the Atom, has been altered, with non-playable-character Mr. Burke removed along with the option of detonating the nuclear bomb. Additionally, an unspecified weapon has been given a name change as it was deemed “inappropriate” for Japan. Presumably the weapon in question is mini-nuke launcher “Fat Man” – Fat Man was the codename for the atomic bomb that was detonated over Nagasaki.

According to Kotaku the reaction from Japanese gamers has been that of disappointment. The game goes on sale in Japan next month.
