Fable Legends will shut down for good on April 13, a post on the game’s community forums has revealed.

The forum post followed the announcement by Microsoft Studios that Lionhead is to close and development of Fable Legends has stopped.

“The decision has been made to stop development on Fable Legends, and the service will cease to be available after 15:00 GMT on Wednesday 13 April 2016,” reads the forum post. “Players who already have access to the closed beta will be able to continue playing the game until this time.”

Gold purchases from the in-game bank have been disabled and no new players will be admitted into the beta.

Players who have invested money into the game will be refunded.

“We will be providing all players who purchased gold a full refund,” explains the update. “Players who are eligible for a refund will be provided further information by email within the next 7 days.”

Whether or not the Fable brand will live on at another studio remains to be seen.
