Lionhead’s in development Xbox One adventure Fable Legends is more than just the next Fable game, it’s quite possibly the Fable game which fans will be playing for the next ten years, John Needham, head of Lionhead, has told GamesIndustry.
“We’re playing the long game with this,” said Needham.
He added: “This is the next big Fable game that is going to be out for five to ten years so it needs to be big, it needs to be interesting. There needs to be a lot of stuff to do, it needs to integrate all the cloud and Xbox One features so we keep our community alive and growing.
“So yeah, it’s big and ambitious, but it needs to be because it’s going to be around a long time.”
Fable Legends is a cooperative experience which takes players back to a time when Albion is teeming with Heroes, meaning there will be plenty to choose from: fearless warriors, cunning tricksters, masters of will, paragons of virtue, heartless mercenaries, intoxicated brawlers, and chicken chasers.
There’s currently no release date, but the game is sure to have a much bigger presence at E3 next summer.
Earlier today Lionhead announced that Fable Anniversary had been delayed until February 2014.
