Bethesda’s free-to-play iOS game Fallout Shelter is already making money, after charting above Candy Crush Saga to claim the number two spot of the top grossing apps.

“We’re very pleased. Fallout Shelter is doing amazingly well, with no real buildup,” Bethesda vice president of PR and marketing Pete Hines said in an interview with GamesBeat. “To take such a light approach to monetization compared to other free-to-play games-We felt like we wanted to err on the side of caution and make it very unobtrusive, make sure it was fun first and foremost. So far so good.”

Despite having no paywalls hindering progress, it seems Fallout Shelter has had no trouble making cash for Bethesda.

Candy Crush Saga generated around $2.55 million a day last quarter.
