Hoberman leaves Bungie after ten years at the heralded development studio and opens the doors to his new studio Certain Affinity. The new outfit is already working on a new set of multiplayer maps for Halo 2 that will be released exclusively to Xbox 360 players in spring 2007. In addition, the newly formed team are working on an exclusive new Xbox 360 title.
The studio’s early titles are going to the Xbox 360, but Hoberman says that despite a close relationship with Microsoft they won’t necessarily develop exclusively for that platform in the future.
“We’re also huge fans of the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, but it’s too early to say whether we’ll ultimately end up exclusive to Microsoft platforms,” said Hoberman.
One thing for sure, is that Certain Affinity will build games in the Halo mould, pledging to “create innovative action-oriented games set in immersive worlds.“
