MMO EverQuest will be inducted into the Choice Online Awards Hall of Fame come October 12 at Game Developers Choice Online in Austin.

The ceremony will celebrate iconic developers and games that have influenced the shape of massive online titles, according to Gamasutra.

Nominees were suggested through open nominations, and then selected by the online game community and the GDC Online Advisory Board, which includes the likes of BioWare Mythic’s Eugene Evans and Blizzard Entertainment’s J. Allen Brack.

EverQuest was originally released in 1999. Its 18th expansion, EverQuest: Veil of Alaris, is set to be released in November 2011.
