Access to the European SOCOM 4 beta will be granted to all PlayStation Plus members, Sony’s EU PlayStation Blog has confirmed.

There’s no firm start date for the beta, but the blog’s Tweet on the subject stated it will begin in the “coming months”.

Things are being handled a little differently over in the US, with beta access codes given to gamers who pick up specially marked versions of Killzone 3.

“To get early access to the beta, look for the SOCOM 4 callout on the front of all eligible copies of Killzone 3 (including both the standalone and Helghast Editions),” explained Zipper Interactive’s Chris Roper.

“Inside the box you’ll find a PSN code that you’ll be able to redeem for your early access as soon as the beta goes live.”

We’re not sure who’s getting the better deal here. European gamers are being given beta access without the need to buy a new game, but it happens to be one of the most anticipated PS3 exclusives of 2011.
