Posting on the official PlayStation.Blog, Greg Easley, co-founder and president of Super-Ego Games, has revealed the first information on the all new PlayStation 3 episodic video game series Rat Race.
Rat Race is an episodic comedy game series set in an extremely dysfunctional office. According to Easley, the people that work in this office aren’t too smart and the player’s job will be to make it through the day.
As with all sitcoms there’ll be a host of loveable and not so loveable characters including: Joy Chung, a hot PR exec; Chip Bratsby III, a pompous jerk whose career focus is getting you fired; and Dr. Ron Durfman, a research scientist who may or may not be intimate with his lab monkey.
Comedy isn’t often pulled off with great success in video games, but Rat Race has been created and voiced by lots of people with impressive credits: Late Night with Conan O’Brien, My Name Is Earl, Saturday Night Live, South Park, Flight of the Conchords, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty and more. The team also includes some of the best stand-up comics in New York City.
Essentially Rat Race hopes to provide gamers with an experience of playing inside their favourite sitcom, but the developers say the game is much deeper than that. In addition to laughing a lot players will be sneaking, sprinting, solving puzzles, stealing and even neutralizing a lab monkey.
You’ll find the first screens here, and expect lots more info over the coming weeks.
