SEGA has today announced that the highly anticipated Empire: Total War from The Creative Assembly is to be released exclusively for PC on February 9, 2009.
Set in the 18th century, a period of global domination, colonisation and gunpowder warfare, Empire: Total War will see players taking on the role of General, Admiral and Emperor and will command massive armies in land and sea battles.
In addition to the introduction of Naval Combat, Empire: Total War is promising further enhancements to the series’ 3D battles and turn-based campaign map. Real time battles will now pose new challenges with the addition of cannons and muskets, challenging players to master new formations and tactics.
The Campaign Map will also be overhauled, with improved systems for Trade, Diplomacy and Espionage, a refined streamlined UI, improved Advisors and extended scope including India, Europe and the untapped potential of North America.
Expect more from Empire: Total War from E3 next week.
