SEGA today announced that update 1.3 for Creative Assembly’s Empire: Total War will be released on Monday, June 22.

The update includes the implementation of multi-threading, which promises to significantly benefit players that use multi-core processors. Additionally, the update is said to greatly improve performance on single core machines.

The update also brings increased diversity to the playable factions, with 14 new units included that will replace the “generic” equivalents.
