After an official Sony patent and pictures of a PlayStation 3 box both included references to an 80GB version of the system, more evidence has emerged to suggest that an ‘elite’ edition of the console is on its way.
A spec sheet detailing the PlayStation 3 on the official Sony website for Korea, where the console is due is to be released on June 16th, lists the hard disk as ‘2.5″ Serial ATA – 80Gb’.
Though it is possible this is a simple typo, there are two other references to an 80GB hard disk on the site, fuelling rumours that an 80Gb model is on its way.
