Elite Dangerous’s 1.2 game update, The Wings, is now rolling out for players, Frontier has announced.

The 3.7GB update primarily introduces new Wings functionality, allowing players to mechanically group up with a small number of other players to share risk and rewards.

  • Enhanced matchmaking for wingmen
  • Enhanced/clear feedback for who and where wingmen are
  • Shared information within the wing
  • Shared bounties and mission rewards
  • On-going mission support for wing gameplay

Additional new content/features added in 1.2 include:

  • Added playable ship:Fer-de-Lance
  • Added playable ship: Vulture
  • Comms interface overhaul
  • Added AI Groups
  • Added ability to reboot destroyed sub systems (modules)
  • Flyable debug camera with limited range added (CTRL+ALT+SPACE)
